Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. It only reports your activity. I'm going back to the Garmin.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just got back from a 4 day cruise. All 4 days were kept/stored in the fitbit as well as other activity like treadmill, weight lifting and even my sleep logs. When I was able to sync with my phone all of my data was available.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you mean does the phone have to have a data connection to use the GPS the answer is no. The Blaze connects to your phone via bluetooth and uses the GPS signal which does not use data. While the fitbit app is running, if you have it set to auto sync, it will use data to sync the app with the fitbit server.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it's blue tooth . but it does use some in the maps for gps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As far as I know your phone uses very little to no data for the GPS. The only thing a phone's GPS uses data for is to download the background maps. Since it is just recording your track for later it isn't downloading any of that stuff.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you mean is there ongoing data for day's activity available real time as you wear device throughout any day....yes. No need to have phone on you to see how you are doing. Rather can sync data at any time to phone or PC, tablet for llater viewing of trends, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does not use data that I am aware of
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ok so what connecting it to your iPhone or Droid does is it helps you keep a history of what you've done for that day or week. However that's all it does and the fitbit watch also does the samething. It'll ask complies the data and email you a weekly detailed progress report but again you don't need the phone connected to do that. I think the main reason I've found to have it paired to your phone is a few handy things such as incoming txt msgs or phone calls it'll tell you who the txt msg is from and whose calling so you don't have to take your phone out of your pocket or fool with it while your working out or walking. The only downside is you can't respond back to the txt or call the person back but at least you can read the msgs and know whose called. Also having it paired to your phone or your iPod you can play and control music which is awesome and very handy I no longer have to take time to find, play, skip tracks whatever u want. So in the end it's really up to you of you want it connected to your phone. What I do is if I'm working out for an hour or so or I'm going on a hike or doing something physical then I will pair it to my phone but if I'm wearing during the day or just to keep track of how many steps or if I'm shopping or running errands I won't pair it to my phone.
