“What are the advantages if any of buying the Fitbit charge 3 vs the fitbit alta?”

• I bought the Fitbit Charge 3 on Monday and going to return it today (Thursday). It is not properly recording my steps but also gives the "steps" when I'm driving or moving my arm. I wanted my steps counted is the main reason I purchased a Fitbit to begin with. Now not sure which one go purchase next.

• Fitbit Charge 3 is newer. Fitbit Charge 3 has a bigger screen so you can see more of your information all at once. Fitbit Charge 3 can also give you text and call notifications, and I'm not sure that the Alta can. If you're wanting something small just to track your steps and show you the time I would say go with the Alta. But if you want to seriously track your work outs, get notifications, and be able to see the screen with more detail, I would go with the Charge 3.

• I purchased the Charge 3 because of the slim design and the long battery life. It also provided me with all of the features I was looking for in a wearable device. It's very comfortable.
