Their is a size guide printed on the package so you can hold it up to your wrist (or someone else's). Needless to say, I returned my unit because of dissatisfaction, so I do not still have the package to tell you the exact size. But the small fit my wife's wrist. I would estimate that typically the small fits women best and the large fits men best.

I have a small wrist so using it, but I am 73, so don't know. I could make mine tighter if I wanted.
