“Do you have to be within "x" amount of feet from your phone for Fitbit to continue working? Or will it sync up with the phone when you get back. I typically will leave my phone at home during a run/bike so am curious about that.”

So from what I understand. Unless you get a Fitbit with GPS it will not sync. You have to have your phone with you. The Fitbit Charge 4 has GPS. The Inspire 2 does not. Hope this helps.
