Inspire 3 will count steps whether you wear it on the wrist or in a clip, but to get the most accurate data, it is best to change mode from on the wrist to on the body, and vice versa, depending on how you are wearing it. When the Inspire 3 is clipped, certain features are turned off, including heart-rate tracking, automatic exercise tracking, and Active Zone Minutes.
