We have not tried it under water yet. We can track the amount of steps one does and there is an option to track exercise along with the app. The battery is very good and can last for over a 5 days to a week before needing to charge. There are four prongs on the charger that connect to the back of the watch easily and you plug the other end to a usb 2.0 port. There were different color bands available at Best Buy but also on Amazon but make sure to get the ones for the sense.
