Are there monthly fees to use programs? null

There are no required monthly fees that I am aware of. There are workout assistance programs and such available for added cost, but not required. This Versa 3 is my sixth different model FitBit in 15 years, I have never paid any additional fees. I did buy the FitBit scale also which is pretty cool as it is wifi and loads straight into the app for up to (4?) household users.
