I did a search on the internet, the answer is 4.5 amp. It is the same as 4.5a X 12v = 54watts. The portable electric heaters in our home use 1500 watts each.

Yes, the blanket draws an order of magnitude less wattage than a home space heater. This blanket will be able to provide a warm covering one inch away from your body and you will feel that warmth directly on your body. With a 1500 watt space heater, it's drawing from a 120v circuit and it's designed to heat hundreds of CUBIC feet of air and this will indirectly warm the air around your body. When on a long drive in very cold weather this blanket will provide adequate heat and comfort for which it was designed. This is drawing from a 12 volt adapter connected to your car and it can't compare with a home space heater. But, you will absolutely LOVE the warmth it provides and you will not be disappointed. Buy with confidence!
