It depends if you want to use it with wireless mouse or wired mouse. You use this model unit with or without mouse.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not really, but I prefer mice. It has 2 alternate methods. You can use the trackpad AND/OR you can use the touchscreen. If the laptop is folded over into a tablet, the keyboard and trackpad are automatically disabled.

My daughter prefers to fold the computer over so that it is more like an iPad but with Flash. My son uses his Asus computer more like a regular laptop. Both used a personal computer with a mouse or trackpad before. Neither have mentioned needing a mouse. They rather have said how much they like to simply touch the screen. They think it is is almost as good as an iPad but with flash included, it is better than an iPad for our kids and the websites they need to go to.
