Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you have a electric outlet below the sink that is controlled by a switch then no electrician needed. But if it needs to be changed from a hardwired connection in the wall to a outlet then a electrician would be needed or recommend. As for hanging the new disposal, you can swap old for new using the same sink collar usually. I prefer to put in a new one to go with new disposal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you have found the circuit breaker it's hooked to and can confirm that the power is off then you can proceed with replacement. There only difference between hard wired and plug in is the end of the cord and an outlet being installed. If you want one with a plug get a good extension cord, cut off the plug end you need plus an extra 1 foot of cord and attach it. (Wire colors and thickness guage of wire can be found in YouTube). There rest of the instructions will be part of the unit.

If it is equipped with a grounded plug-in power cord, it must be grounded. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug.
