Q: Questionreplacing a FGMV176NTF... would the mounting be the same? Pretty sure they are quite similar!
Asked by stlrboo.
- A:Answer Not a guarantee. We thought this new item should have the same mounting profile as the installed Frigidaire Gallery microwave, buy it was not identical. The newer model required the mounting plate to be an inch lower than the existing mount. If going directly onto the wall, it should not be a problem, but we had backsplash right up to the existing mounting plate. This required us to remove one inch of ceramic backsplash. That was a very dirty task and required the use of a 3 1/2 “ blade circular saw, with a diamond tip blade and an Oscillating tool with a diamond tip blade. If you have to perform this task, here are some recommendations for doing this and not crack your existing tiles. 1) Place tape directly over the area to be cut and mark you line on the tape. 2) Adjust the saw to make 1/16” deep cuts with each pass, till you are through. 3) have a second person with a spray bottle of water spray the cutting area to try and minimize the dust.

Q: QuestionCan this unit be connected directly to electrical wiring or does it need to be plugged into a wall outlet?
Asked by MikeE.
This question was asked about the related product: Frigidaire - 1.8 Cu. Ft. Over-The-Range Microwave with PureAir Filter - White
- A:Answer Hi there, Mike E! The Frigidaire 1.8 cu ft Over-the-Range Microwave (with the model such as FMOW1852AS / FMOS1846 series) here is what the installation manual specifies regarding electrical connection: What it does require - The unit is rated for 120 V AC, 60 Hz. - It draws about 13.5 amps at 120 V. This microwave oven must be plugged into a wall receptacle that is properly installed and grounded. It is equipped with a cord having a grounding plug. You should install this microwave so that it plugs into a proper 3-prong grounded receptacle (outlet) in the cabinet or wall above the range. It’s not meant to be hardwired (wires permanently connected) unless the manufacturer or a qualified electrician provides an approved modification or kit that permits it, and you’d need to check local electrical/power code as well. If you were thinking of wiring it directly (without a plug), you’d want to first check: - Does the model variant come with a power cord and plug, or is it sold as “hardwire” capable? - Are there local code requirements in your area (Philippines / Manila) about over-the-range microwaves and connections? - Would any warranty be affected if you bypass the plug? - Maico

Q: QuestionDoes it come with mounts for under the cabinet?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi there, valued consumer! You will need mounting hardware to install the Frigidaire 1.8 Cu. Ft. Over‑The‑Range Microwave with PureAir Filter under your cabinet. Typically, this model comes with a mounting plate plus screws and toggle bolts, which are used to attach the unit securely to the back wall and to the cabinet above. Q: QuestionIs the duct opening at the back at the top or bottom? I need a microwave for bottom vent opening if that exists.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Frigidaire FMOS1846BS has its duct opening located at the top rear of the unit, which can be configured for either top (vertical) or rear (horizontal) external venting, or set up for recirculating use. This model does not have a bottom vent opening, so it wouldn’t be suitable if your installation requires venting through the bottom. - Reed

Q: QuestionI am replacing FGMV17WNVF. does the mounting bracket works with this model?
Asked by bbuser1.
- A:Answer Good day, Bbuser1! If you're replacing FGMV17WNVF, and you're looking at installing the Frigidaire 1.8 Cu. Ft. Over‑The‑Range Microwave with Pure Air Filter (model FMOS1846… / FMOS1846BS/… similar Pure Air series). You can use the Pure Air 1.8 cu ft Frigidaire model in place of FGMV17WNVF, as long as your cavity measurements match. However, do not expect the old mounting bracket to work. Asked by Sweet.
This question was asked about the related product: Frigidaire - 1.8 Cu. Ft. Over-The-Range Microwave with PureAir Filter - Black
- A:Answer Good day, Sweet! Yes, the Frigidaire Gallery FGMV175Q series over-the-range microwave (including models like FGMV175QB, FGMV175QF, and FGMV175QW) can replace your existing microwave, provided that the dimensions and installation requirements match your current setup. Q: QuestionIf you’re installing the microwave using one of the duct instillation types, do you still need a spacer for cabinets that are more than 13 inches in depth?
Asked by ZiggyQ.
- A:Answer Hi there, ZiggyQ! When installing the Frigidaire Gallery 27" Electric Wall Oven and Microwave Combination (model GCWM2767AF) with one of the ducted ventilation types (external venting), the installation instructions typically mention whether you need a spacer for cabinets that are deeper than 13 inches. In this case, the need for a spacer depends on how the microwave is mounted and the available depth of your cabinet. The 13-inch depth is often referenced to ensure that the microwave’s vent and exhaust system have enough room to function properly when venting externally. If your cabinet depth is greater than 13 inches, you may still need a spacer to ensure that the microwave fits properly and vents effectively. However, in most cases, the spacer is required for cabinets that are too shallow to accommodate the ventilation system without interfering with the ducting. If your cabinet depth is greater than 13 inches, you should not need a spacer, but you must check the installation manual for the specific requirements, as some configurations might still require one for optimal performance and fit. Always refer to the installation manual provided by Frigidaire for exact guidelines specific to your cabinet size and the venting option you're using. - Maico
