Hi tb. Great question. Temperatures of 32°F (0°C) and below will NOT affect operation. Additional compressor heaters are not recommended.For the most efficient operation, the appliance should be located where surrounding temperatures will not exceed 110°F (43°C). Kindly, Anna

We have had ours (in the unheated garage) for about two weeks here in central PA and have already had a few nights in the low teens without a problem. The freezer actually seems to run less which makes perfect sense.
