“Why does it make a hissing noise when you close the door? I was concerned so I exchanged it and the 2nd one does it as well. I've never heard it on any other freezers.”

Mine does the same, again I am lucky as we have it in the garage, but it is very loud. I wondered if it was caused by the same during delivery.

When it is first cooling down and empty, this vacuum will be very strong. It should dissipate over time as the temperatures stabilize and the interior is filled with food items. You may notice a decrease in this noise then, as well. ~Ashton
