“Freezer delivered today.The noise from the motor is fine but every time the freezer is opened and then closed again, it makes the LOUDEST whistling noise that can be heard throughout the whole house! Is ours defective or a bad model#? Reviews were great.”

Hello mbt4! Since the freezer FFFH17F2QW only has one door, after closing the door, it creates a vacuum and draws in air through a small opening on the cabinet this is called the breather valve. The noise is not uncommon. We hope this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
