“My room is 200 sq feet, 2 people, 2 big dogs, and I live in hot/humid south USA. I have a new 8000 btu LG that is supposed to go to 60 but kicks off at 63. Would this one probably cool this room to 60 and actually work until then or stop early like LG?”

Check your filter. An 8,000 should cool very well and if you have the eco or temperature set to on, cut it off so that it stays running even after 60

A model too large for the space may get inaccurate readings and shut off early or leave the room feeling humid, as you were seeing with your previous model.
