A:Answer I have 10 of these units , that I have purchased in the past, occasionally a fan motor will burn out , because after all these units run 24 hours a day, I have used units from Sears , however, I like the units put out by Best Buy better, they are much quieter in operation, the bucket that collects the water , I will admit that this is the weak spot on any of the fridgersire units, they are hard to empty and very difficult to hold on too, this is a weak spot, I would hope that the manufacturer could some day improve on, other than this, I just ordered 4 more of these fridge aire products and as far as the question involving the fan and when the compressor cut off, the answer is, yes, your fan will cut off also, you will not go wrong buying a fridgeraire unit from Best Buy, I have 14 of these units as of now, I have several rental houses and they are very efficient untis, and work as well as any units on the market , their warrenty plan is the best I have seen, I have yet to have to use it , but compared to other models I luv their warrenty plan....I hope this will help some of you who are buying a dehumidifier for the first time, I think you will be happy when you get your unit.....NC is a very humid area and in the summer time, I like dry air to live in and in moist areas of my home....Along the coast of NC, I can't do without a dehumidifier....
