• Hello, In order to have the unit drain properly, the hose must be directed somewhere that is below the unit as draining and directing the hose to somewhere above the unit may create a siphoning effect and the water will travel back down into the unit.

• I do not think it will operate against gravity. There is no pump to move the water.

• No, it is a gravity drain system. There are dehumidifiers available with a pump built in to them.
