• I own this unit, and think you can. There is a button on the unit where you can turn the wireless option on and off. Manually. Or, you can just not use the app at all, if I'm following your question correctly? Check the manual and troubleshooting area.

• You actually can turn off the WiFi function–my cats like to do it all the time–and yes, the unit works without WiFi.

• Hi, thank you for your question tuckeroo! The air conditioner FGRC0844S1 has a Wi-Fi setting and it is unable to be disabled. However, you can still use the appliance without the Wi-Fi. We hope this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
