My unit broke when a friend fell into and it crashed to the floor. Before that, I remeber it to blow cool air. But a better description of its effect is it circulated the existing air in the room. When I ran it in room where I had an air conditioner as well, it was as you would imagine freezing. When I put it in my bathroom that had no windows it served more as air freshener than coolant
