A: Me too, I might add the initial answer may be correct, however in my case the unit won't power long enough to check or change settings, upon plugging the unit in it beeps, and goes off... Not 5 seconds before it powers off and pressing the power button yields no results.

A: The air conditioner is 18.5 inches wide.
A: Once you hit the remote sensing start button on the remote, you can control the temperature from the remote, and it also senses the temperature at the remote instead of at the air conditioner. I've tried it and it seems to work fine like that.
