- Answer I'm not sure how much this weighs, maybe 50 pounds plus? But I can assure you this, it weighs less and is smaller than the unit it is replacing and that was an older sharp 10,000 BTU unit. It still takes two people to install without straining yourself but one strong person could do this no problem. My old unit was probably around 80-90 pounds. This is definitely lighter, new technology helps make it lighter I'm sure.

- Answer I come up with measurement using our house plan. However, I also measured the area of my bedroom personally (I.e., the width and the length of my bedroom area) I also asked the customer service before I bought my aircon and they are patient enough to read the specifications based on my questions prior to purchase. Your question was also once my questions, and the customer service helped me on the description and specification of what BTU I just need in every area of my house. . I am happy with my purchase and actually bought four window type aircon last summer.
