• The kit is designed for the standard window type. Anything else you have to do a little leg work. I felt it was worth it. We have victorian style windows (about 3 feet tall) we removed the window and cut a piece of ply wood to make up the difference in the height of the window.

• no, you'd have to add in some cardboard. But don't buy this thing, not because of that, but because it is so loud.
