• A:Answer The ice maker has a water hook up and will use whatever water comes from that water line. If you have a filtration system before that water line, then yes (e.g. we just installed a Culligan water softener and reverse osmosis water tank; however our house has old copper lines that wouldn't connect to the system, so our ice maker uses softened water, not reverse osmosis-filtered). If you don't have any filtration before the water line, then no.

• A:Answer you should check with Frigidaire direct. I can't remember the answer to your question. What I will say is that be very careful to order this on line with Best Buy. Total disaster for the installation. The trim (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) is no idiot proof requirement. it needs a special installation effort and on line they don't tell you this. Go to the store and work with someone in the store or go to a specialized F dealer. as for the product it's the best. this is my third time ordering this set (I've moved twice since the first set) and they work great and look great and the storage amount is unbelievable.

Q: QuestionWe are not sure how the icemaker works in this unit. We just got back from a week long vacation and the ice was overflowing. Is the ice maker a manual turn off? Our past freezers would shut off automatically when the ice reached a certain point.
