The orientation of the burners seems to be different. Also the depth of the cooktop is deeper on one versus the other. In my case, I needed a shallow unit, no more than 3 inches deep or else I would have had to modify the existing cabinet.

The $899 model is a little smaller compared to the $999 model, additionally, they differ on cooktop performance and electrical specification, but other than that, they have the same specification and features.
