Probably because the filter needs to be changed. That is what the red light means. Replace the filter, and don't forget to reset the indicator light by pushing and holding the "Filter reset" button for a few second.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Did you double check the shutoff lever in the ice cube catch tray, i.e. is it stuck or broken, did you check the ice making button, is it set to on or off? Also double check your owner's manual they usually have trouble shooting tips in there.

Based on what you described though the filter light has been reset, the unit not producing ice is a sign of a partially clogged filter. It is recommended that a filter is replaced about every 6 months based on usage. If this time has expired please purchase a new filter as once the filter is completely clogged no water will be available to the dispenser. Thank you.
