Did you remove the plastic caps from the filter before you tried inserting it? I once forgot to then bent the receiving end before trying to the reinstall and it wouldn’t line up. Therefore I had to order another interior piece because it was defective.

The two things I discovered when inserting my new filter were number one I had to remove the two plastic caps from the end of the filter that inserts into the refrigerator. And number two you have to push in until it snaps into place. It took a slight amount of force.
