A:AnswerThe Geek Squad delivered and installed my new Frigidaire 15,100 BTU air conditioner. I paid the Geek Squad an installation fee for installing the air conditioner. The new air conditioner included 2 white metal triangle support brackets (same metal and color as the air conditioner). Since there was no need to use this "160 lb air conditioner support bracket", I returned it for a refund. This is what happens ... the Geek Squad team first removes the new air conditioner from it's metal frame, than installs the metal frame to the window, than screws these 2 metal triangle support brackets that come with the air conditioner to each side of the INSIDE of the metal frame ... NO SCREWS are drilled into the siding or brick of your house ..., than finally, puts the air conditioner back into the metal frame. I am assuming all air conditioners over 15,100 BTU comes with their own TRIANGLE support brackets. Note: the Best Buy description of the air conditioner should be revised to inform the consumer that the air conditioner comes with 2 triangle support brackets. Also, FYI, the manual did not have instructions on how to install these 2 metal triangle support brackets. In fact the manual did not even mention that the 2 metal triangle support brackets were included with the air conditioner ... I guess that is why 5 years ago when I purchased the exact same BTU Frigidaire air conditioner, my contractor who installed it told me to purchase this additional 160 Lb AC support bracket (I don't think he knew what the 2 metal triangle supports that came with the 15,100 BTU air conditioner were used for and that is why I purchased it again with the new AC until I was informed by the Geek Squad that I did not need the 160 lb air conditioner support bracket). The 2 metal triangle support brackets look much better and "neater". Again, Best Buy should really update the description on ALL their air conditioners to state whether or not support brackets are included with air conditioners, along with updating the manual on how to install the brackets. Last thing, paying the extra money for the Geek Squad to install the air conditioner is worth the money.
