Yes, this bracket will work on vinyl windows. The bracket when installed correctly according to the directions, will support all the weight of the AC.

There are various plastic spacers that raise the bracket above the vinyl frame so no weight is applied to the window frame. I used the plastic spacers that came with the AC and also added a very thin shim so it would not put any weight on the window frame.
