The iX1500 does have the ability to scan to Outlook. This is true of all of the ScanSnap scanners.

Although I will be purchasing this one, there is a highly rated one called the Raven Original and Raven Pro that do not require a PC at all. The Raven Original scans "directly into integrated cloud services (Raven Cloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, Evernote, Box, SharePoint, OneDrive), USB Drive, Email, SMB Share or Fax" The Raven Pro scans "Connected by Wi-Fi or Ethernet, the Raven Scanner Pro scans and sends your documents directly to your favorite destinations such as Raven Cloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Evernote, SharePoint, OneDrive, Email or Fax - all without the need for a computer or software installation." roughly but also scans to a PC but is $230 more than the original. You would have to do a search to see what other differences there are between the 2 since i cant imagine that big price jump just to be able to scan to PC. Hope this helps
