A:Answer Yes, it can. Mine is mounted outdoors (and it is not flush against a wall). The cover slips directly over the top of the TV....think like you're putting a Tshirt over your head. It then has a split in the back where it will go around the wall mount. Then at the bottom, it has velcro so that you can secure it from blowing in the wind or allowing water, dirt or bugs inside.
