The Dash Cam 30 is designed to record the front of the vehicle in case of an emergency. If you are interested in a device that will allow you to see behind the vehicle, I would recommend looking into the Garmin BC 30 wireless backup camera. The Dash Cam 30's battery is not user replaceable. The device does come with a one-year manufacturer's warranty, and repair service is available if outside of warranty. The Dash Cam 30 includes a 4 GB microSD card for recording video. -OA
