Yes it has to be synced to a smart watch. You could use it for instantaneous readings but it might be inaccurate if there is no exercise done.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would suggest a wearable where you can see your hear rate at any time. And if you have a smart phone you can download the app to keep track on a daily basis. Me personally I have the Vivoactive HR+. Hope this helps
