Q: Is it water proff for swiming
A: Absolutely! I swim all the time. This was one of the deciding factors for my decision to go with the agar in over Fitbit and others.
A: Display is the weakest category for this product. Could not get the actual feel in the store and I would have selected another product on the poor back light in general.
A: Yes! Time and date is there. Can be seen in the dark as well.
Q: Does this watch receive text message notifications? Can you read them on the watch?
A: When connected to your phone by Bluetooth, yes, you will get any notifications you request, including text and email. Fair warning, though, staying connected drains the battery quickly and you won't know about dead battery until you look down and device is off.
A: Thank you for your inquiry. The vívosmart HR + was designed to track Run, Other or Cardio. You can edit the activity type once you sync and change it to cycling. Here are the instructions: https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/aNGg6LTaoT4X7fyCnIuQW6 Best regards. ~QKO
A: Kimmy, Charging takes a unique cable that attached to the back of the "watch", and to a USB charging source (portable charger works fine) on the other end. This means that it must be removed from your wrist to be charged, which will result in the loss of the heart rate monitoring function, and probably affect pace counting (which doesn't matter if you're in GPS mode), but I'd expect everything to keep working and recording. Because the charging cable doesn't cover the heart rate sensors, you might even be able to keep that function working by placing a finger or thumb over the hear rate sensors:-)
A: Technically it would double count data, it would be best to take it off during a ride with the Edge 820. ~JH
A: I had the same issue, and I tried two separate devices. I don't think you're alone. I returned it for this very reason...
