• The instinct display allows a black on white background or a white on black background but does not have additional color options. You cannot download apps or watch faces from Garmin Connect with this model

• Your only choice on the watch face are factory preset faces that are white on black or black on white. No, it is not compatible with the Garmin store.

• It has multiple faces built in, and each allows you to customize which complications to show and where to show them. The advantage to a black and white LCD screen is that it consumes relatively no power at all compared to back-lit color LCD screens so they can remain on full time without any significant loss of battery life. You need a backlight to see a color LCD. BLK & WHT can be read with just sunlight and just the slightest backlight at night. The difference in power consumption is like 10,000 to 1.
