Garmin navigation devices and dash cameras are designed for the automotive environment and are certified to meet the required international product safety and battery safety standards. It is normal and expected for the products to become warm or hot and remain safe for use in warm climates with full sun exposure. The temperature of the device itself can exceed the specified maximum operating ambient temperature for the device and remain safe for use. Always follow the device use and care instructions contained in the product manual.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve used this camera for few days and yes it does get warm after few minutes. But it had never shut down due to heat. I have not tested it on long drive hours, so can’t comment if it would shut down or stop recording due to over heating.
