Yes, the cam will disconnect relatively easily from the mount. It can also be updated without disconnecting by using the smartphone app. It will live feed to your phone but uses WiFi to do so. You pair it using Bluetooth but the live feed uses the Bluetooth connection to set up a WiFi connection between the cam and the phone to handle video.
