QuestionDo you have to have a phone package in order to use the traffic rerouting function.My husband and I do not have smart phone or bluetooth...yet. I want to plan for the future and have the capability open to us if we should want that. My question is can you use all the features of this Garmin without the phone services. (which cost more) Thanks

- Answer That's a great question and I'm guessing it's because you own an iPhone like I do, and the polarized sunglassed make it extremely hard to read the iphone. But with the Garmin 3597 I can still see the screen just fine with my polarized sunglasses.

- Answer I'm not sure about the Topo maps. It is compatible with a Mac and iPhone. You can even send contacts to it, from your phone.

QuestionDoes this GPS allow the ability to modify or create your own route and send it to the device?I want to be able to go to a website, i.e. Mapquest, plot out my route and send it to my GPS, instead of the GPS determining my route. Can I do that with this?

QuestionCan in pair my nUVI 3597 LMTHD to my Jeep AND my Galaxy S5?I have UConnect BlueTooth system in my Jeep Wrangler. I have Galaxy S5 mobile phone. I was able to pair my nUVI 3597 LMTHD (Medusa) to my Galaxy S5, successfully. Can I, also pair Medusa with Uconnect on my Jeep, and not have any conflicts. Do I need to? I'd like to take Medusa on an off-roading trip, and there may or may not be cellular signal in back country.

- Answer Hi Neil, The nuvi 3597LMTHD is designed to pair with mobile phones for features like hands-free talking, but it will not be able to pair with the Bluetooth system in your Jeep. -NM

- Answer The maps in the box should be 2013 data, The unit comes with lifetime map updates so you alwys have access to the newest data.

QuestionA key function for meI currently have an older version Nuvi. I use it in my boat when in the ocean and many lakes. I know it does not provide nautical information, but I use it to track my mileage by setting it up in the "offroad" mode. Can you please tell me if the 3597 provides an offroad, pedestrian, or bicycle mode that can be switched to by the user. Thanks Jim

- Answer Yes, the device can display the entire route from start to finish. Please use the steps below. • find a location (POI, address, etc) • press "Go" when you find the destination • press the bar at the top of the map page • press the menu bars in the upper left corner • press Map {CW}
