QuestionI am comparing the Vivoactive HR Smartwatch and the Vivosmart HR Activity Tracker. I would like to use it for paddleboarding. I see the smartwatch can do this. Will I have to pay extra for this ability? Can the Vivosmart be used to track paddleboarding?

- Answer The vívosmart HR does not have a dedicated paddleboarding mode like the vívoactive HR does. The vívosmart HR can record an "Other" activity; however, it does not give detailed paddleboarding metrics. This activity profile does not cost extra. ^DK

- Answer To help maximize battery life, the vivoactive HR uses a variable sampling interval for resting heart rate, which will adjust based on a number of factors. The interval cannot be set to a specific interval. Best Regards, -OA

QuestionI'm looking for a watch for cycling and hiking. How does this compare to the Edge 25, which I currently have? Does it have Live Tracking? Lastly, I didn't see hiking as a listed activity? Does that just fall under walking? Thanks.

- Answer The vívoactive HR has nearly the same cycling features as the Edge 25, and it also has LiveTrack capabilities. You could use the “Walk” activity type for hiking, create a Custom Activity, or locate a compatible hiking app from Connect IQ. (KS)

- Answer Yes you can use the Garmin Connect app to map your run or gps data... But you can also link it to STRAVA for Cycling or Running as well.

- Answer The vívoactive HR must be connected to your phone via Bluetooth to receive Smart Notifications. The range may vary based on the environment (walls, electronics being used, etc), but you should maintain Bluetooth connection for up to 10 meters (30 feet). You can only read and dismiss the notifications from your watch and cannot respond to texts. Lastly, the vívoactive HR does not monitor heart rate when swimming, but does provide detailed stats such as total and interval distance, pace, stroke count, stroke type and more. (KS)

- Answer I did not charge it at first, I always prefer to let it drain to 20% before. It charges super fast too, I thought it would take a lot, but it takes around 1 hour to charge completely.
