The rowing machine yes but the bike no. With the heart rate strap on it will track your heart rate on both but steps it tracks with wrist movement.

Because of this, we recommend you wear the device on your non-dominant wrist. Occasionally there may circumstances when an activity may be performed, (for instance, cycling or using a recumbent bike) but step data may not increase. This is because either enough movement has not been detected by the sensors to record a step or the movement that is detected is irregular. The distance recorded is based upon steps taken.
