If your wrist is not moving like it does when you are walking with empty hands it won't count your steps. Your better off with a pedometer that clips to your clothing.

Please try again later.If you find that it is not measuring steps and distance to your satisfaction you can change how it measures the steps and distance in the device setting option on your Garmin profile to make it more accurate. It has a default setting for measurements that I find to be very accurate for me most of the time. If i count my steps and then check the tracker it is usually only off by 1 or 2 steps at most times. You can change how it measures though.
