“Is it normal for the buttons to make a clicking noise when pushed? I have never had a microwave that did this so I wonder if it’s a defect.”

After my son looked at it he realized the clicking sound was coming from the child lock which he disabled… it is fine now.

If your unit is brand new, make sure to pull off the protective plastic so that it is not creating a clicking noise when the pads are pressed.
