A:AnswerHello Keri - Thank you for reaching out about your microwave. We are sorry to hear about the interior of your microwave. Peeling paint can happen in a variety of ways. A consistent build up of moisture due to heating high moisture content foods can loosen the coating. Another reason could be arcing, due to metal being placed in the cavity, caused arcing and compromised the integrity of the coating. The cavity coating in our microwave ovens is selected to be safely used as a food-contact surface and meets our and applicable government requirements for such use. However, If the coating is actively flaking or paint is peeling anywhere inside the oven cavity (including under the turntable) discontinue the use of the microwave and replace it. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - John

A:AnswerI'd say about 8.5 inches tall. I just measured, with the rotating glass tray and a bump in the ceiling 8.5 is the most I would expect. We bought this model because it was small on our limited counter space. The rotating tray is about 12-in diameter, so no problem for our plates.
A:AnswerHi Paul - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding microwave operating sounds. We suggest to make sure the microwave is level (installed on flat surface). Make sure the turntable is properly installed. Microwaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. Allow 3" of clearance on both sides and the top and 1" clearance in the rear. See MICROWAVE AIR CLEARANCE - COUNTERTOP ONLY MODELS: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21668 - Also, we suggest to view the following links- NORMAL OPERATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS FOR A MICROWAVE: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=15900 - MICROWAVE - ARCING OR MAKING SOUNDS:
