Q: QuestionDoes this model JVM3160 actually come with a recirculating charcoal filter kit? The product description says it does, but I would like to confirm as some of the questions and answers indicate that it must be purchases separately. Thanks for your help.

Q: QuestionI currently have a GE model JVM1533BD002 installed over my range (with outside venting). It fits well. However, it is not working and needs replacement. Can a GE model JVM316ORFSS be installed in its place -- that is, will it fit?

Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. Q: QuestionWe are replacing a GE Spacemaker XL JVM1460WA and are considering the JVM3160DFWW. Will the new unit work on the existing wall bracket, use the same three mounting screws holes in the top cabinet and exhaust horizontally threw the top of the bracket.

• A:Answer I doubt anyone can answer that question on this forum. That being said, We replaced a GE with this new GE and the brackets were different and the holes didn't match up. I'm not sure why they don't make certain things standard.

Over-the-range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. Q: Questionis GE Over the oven microwave JVM3160DF4WW the same as your JVM3160DFWW

• A:Answer Pretty close. I think the 4 indicates the 4th generation of the JVM3160DFWW. The one pictured looks like the one I replaced. The latest model has a few minor cosmetic differences, and the internal dimensions are slightly different. Also, although it fits perfectly in the same location, the back wall mounting bracket and the location of the top mounting bolts and power cord are different...can't just remove the old unit and replace with the new unit without redrilling some holes.

Q: QuestionExactly where does the power cord come out of the unit - top right side, top left side? How long is the power cord from the unit to the plug?

It replaced a microwave of the same model that I bought several years ago. Its specs from the Web site are: Product Height 16 1/2 inches Product Width 29 7/8 inches Product Depth 15 1/4 inches I googled your model number (it's 1.7 cu ft, slightly larger internally than mine) and found the following approximate specs, virtually identical to yours Approx. Product Dimensions (WxHxD) (in.) 29 7/8 in x 16 13/32 in x 15 1/4 in Hope that answers your question. Google can find almost anything.
