Q: QuestionI have a Spacemaker JVM1440WH04 that needs to be replaced. Which model(s) would be comparable in size and will fit in the space where the old one is? Will I be able to use the existing mounting plate as well?

• A:Answer Hi KS- We appreciate your loyalty! Yes, the dimensions are comparable. PVM1870SM2SS is approximately 29 7/8"W x 16 7/8"H x 15 1/4"D. JVM6175SKSS is approximately 29 7/8"W x 16 1/2"H x 15"D. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. Q: QuestionHello, I have an old GE convection microwave model jvm192k 003. It is only about 16 inches high. Which new GE models have a similar height? Sufficient clearance over the gas cook top is important. Also, do you have any models without a turntable?

• A:Answer The JVM6175SKSS would be a great fit for your home. All 30" Over-The-Range (OTR) microwaves are approximately the same width and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our current 30" OTR microwave models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" model. When replacing an OTR microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts and exhaust adapter should also be used. -Don@GEAppliances

• A:Answer The dimensions of that model are 16 5/16" H x 29 7/8" W x 15 9/16" D. The model features a vent fan and a two-speed, 300-CFM venting system. It is recirculating but can be converted to external venting. More details about venting are available in the manual and installation instructions; those can be viewed on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product's page. Regarding a similar model, we can advise all of our 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. Please note that you should use the mounting bracket and hardware that comes with the new model, rather than the old bracket and hardware. -Sarah@GEAppliances

Q: QuestionNeed a replacement for a 28 yr old JVM1330WW (still works but I snapped the handle off ) . JVM6175DKWW seems closest size-wise (depth is one inch longer) — is this a good replacement choice? Maybe something else?

As new iterations and generations of our microwaves are produced, it is always possible the new model will utilize an entirely different style of mounting bracket and the locations identified on the template for the mounting bolts could be different as well. • A:Answer These two models offer the same capacity oven and will fit in the same space. The JVM6175DKWW model offers sensor cooking functions that are not offered on the JVM6172DKWW. The sensor cooking features take the guesswork out of microwaving. You select the food item and the microwave determines the correct power level and cook time for that particular item. We do recommend in all cases that you use the mounting bracket and hardware that will be packaged with the new microwave. We're confident either model will serve you well. -Vikki@GEAppliances
