QuestionI have Model # PVM1870SM1SS and it quit working. My old microwave vents out the front. The cabinet that is above the microwave is 15 inches and this model is 15 inches deep. How far out from the cabinet must the microwave be in order to vent properly?

QuestionMy over the counter GE microwave JVM1190 needs replacement. What model do you recommend as replacement? Would JVM 6175 work? This model's dimensions are slightly larger, it's 1.7 cu ft and 1000 watts where as my old one was 1.1 cu ft and 825 watts.

QuestionDid not come with a user manual; apparently this was a deliberate omission. I was able to download a pdf to a pdf editor, edit out half (the Spanish pages) and then two sided print the remainder. This process is so unnecessary. Last GE I’m buying.

QuestionDoes this microwave have a rounded door edge against the wall. I can only buy a rounded edge door since microwave is against the wall above the stove. Square edges do not work. Please reply, this is crucial to my purchase. Thanks John

QuestionI currently have a 1997 GE Profile Spacesaver XL Sensor I need to replace. The GE over the range 1.7 cu seems to be the closest fit even though it appears about 1 inch deeper than the existing microwave. Will this actually fit? Other recommendations?

We do expect some noise as the microwave and fan operate, but we always want to provide as peaceful an experience for you as possible, and regret any inconvenience caused. Your concern will be sent to our team for future review. You can run the vent fan at a lower level if you wish; you would press the Vent Fan option once to boost the fan speed, twice for high speed, three times for medium speed, four times for low speed and five times to turn it off completely. (Please note that you may not always be able to turn the fan off immediately – if the internal parts aren’t cool it will keep running until they are.) You can also minimize automatic fan operation by using the correct size cookware and only using high heat on the surface units when necessary. We hope this information is helpful. - Answer If you’re still looking… I have the one you had. Mine is in slate. Works great. Never had any issues. I just did a kitchen remodel and removed all upper cabinets and went with a hood vent option over my stove. I no longer need the microwave.

When you replace one of our over-the-range microwaves, you would need to use the mounting bracket that comes with the new microwave, as that bracket is model specific. This particular model is also Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel, which includes a clear coat over the stainless to make the unit easy to clean and maintain/help resist fingerprints. QuestionI have a JVM3160RFSS and it recently stopped working. The appliance store recommended purchasing the JVM6175SKSS instead. But I do not want to move/replace the mounting brackets since they are drilled into tile. Are these mounts identical?
