A:AnswerHey there, and thanks for your interest in this upright freezer! We know how important the energy used by the appliance is, and we’re glad to advise. Except for international units, all of our upright freezers have approximately a 5 amp draw. The freezer will generally draw an extra current during start up which is approximately 2x the running amp draw. If you need to know the exact amps or watts used, we recommend checking the rating plate on the appliance. That should be consulted if the freezer needs to be placed on a generator or another auxiliary power source. We suggest that the freezer be on a dedicated circuit, for best performance and to avoid any overloading of house wiring circuits. We hope this helps. If you have any additional concerns or questions, we are always happy to assist. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

A:AnswerHi Dan - Current GE Upright Freezers are not made in the US. GE Appliances products are designed by GE Appliances engineers in the United States. Many are manufactured in the U.S. and others are made globally to our specifications. The country of origin is shown on the Model/Serial rating plate as well as the packaging. Manufacturing facilities (plant sites, where appliances are made) can and do change from time to time because GE Appliances continues to seek the most efficient manufacturing processes available. We make products all over the world for a Global marketplace. Therefore, your best source for manufacturing location is the packaging/product itself. Keep in touch! Sue
