Hi - Thanks for considering GE! It is recommended to not install this refrigerator where it could be running in extreme temperatures. Do not use the refrigerator in unheated locations, such as garages, porches, or unheated rooms where the temperature is likely to fall below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. After-market garage kits or heater kits should not be used. Below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the oil could become thick and not circulate properly. Above 110 degrees Fahrenheit, the oil could overheat and break down. See REFRIGERATOR INSTALLATION LOCATION AND TEMPERATURE: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16910 - We suggest our new "garage ready" GE® 19.2 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator GTS19KGNRWW. This model is tested to perform from 38°F to 110°F. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
