A:AnswerHi Replacement, Thanks for checking in with us. We recommend you look at the PEB7227SLSS model for your space. Trim kits assist with venting, so you will need to purchase the trim kit that has been approved to be installed with this unit. 27 inch: JX7227SLSS, 30 inch: JX7230SLSS. Have a good day. Sadie@GEA
A:AnswerHi pious- We certainly appreciate your loyalty! GE® 2.0 Cu. Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven JES2051SNSS is intended for countertop use. It is not compatible with a built-in trim kit. We suggest our GE Profile™ Series 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Sensor Microwave Oven PEB7227SLSS (gray). It is compatible with GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227SLSS (stainless) and GE® Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230SLSS (stainless). If you prefer black, choose PEB7227DLBB. It can be installed with the stainless trim kits or 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227DLBB (Black), 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230DLBB (Black). We suggest to view the Quick Specs for cabinet dimensions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=PEB7227SL_BL_R2_17.pdf - A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
A:AnswerHi CaliforniaRetiree- Thanks for considering GE! We offer a variety of models and not all models have all features. This model is equipped with an extra-large, 16" turntable that rotates food throughout the cycle and accommodates large cookware. We also offer GE Profile™ Series 1.1 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEM31SFSS with Turntable On/Off option (10.625" Turntable). Thanks for reaching out to us! SUE@GEA
A:AnswerYes, there should be a trim kit for this microwave shown at Best Buy website. I had an existing trim kit I used with previous GE Microwave that fit perfectly.
A:AnswerHi Steve- GE® 2.0 Cu. Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven JES2051SNSS is intended for countertop use and not compatible with a Built-In Trim Kit. The PEB7227SLSS is our "stainless" built-in model, meaning that it is the model that is paired with other stainless appliances. The door and control is the same dark gray used on the stainless oven door and control panel, as well as the accents and case sides on other stainless appliances. Since the PEB7227SLSS is intended for built-in installations only, the required 27" or 30" stainless trim kit is the stainless framing around the dark gray door and control. When the microwave is installed with the stainless trim kit, it has a similar appearance as our Stainless wall ovens, which are commonly paired with built-in microwaves in the cabinet. 27" Stainless Trim Kit: JX7227SLSS/30" Stainless Trim Kit: JX7230SLSS. A:AnswerYes, it can be installed in a bolt-in cabinet. We were looking for one that would fit the space we had originally built into the wall when we had our house built. This one has a little more room around it but it looks really nice. I believe it comes in black as well.
A:AnswerI would not recommend doing that. The owner's manual mentions space needed for airflow so you don't overheat the unit. So placing it above a heat source sounds unwise.
A:AnswerYou would need to either cut a strip of wood or metal to put under you platform that brings door opening in line with trim kit or adjust your trim kit to just match up to opening of Microwave so door opens smoothly. Though the appearance may be off a little.
A:AnswerHi Dorie - A trim kit is not offered for model JES2051DN3BB. Select GE Appliance countertop microwaves are Built-In Ready. A matching trim kit (sold separately) is required to install the unit as a Built-In Microwave. You can view our selection of Built-In Ready models at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-category/microwave-ovens?TYPE=Built-In - Keep in touch! SUEatGEA
A:AnswerI've never experienced this, but my guess is that the door isn't tightly closed, due perhaps, to something lodged between the door and microwave. Check to make sure that your door latch is working properly, also.
A:AnswerYes, there is a trim kit for this microwave and can be found through any vendor selling accessories and parts for the GE Profile microwave. We used the GE Profile trim kit (which we already had), with the newly purchased microwave model and it fit exactly right. Our built in GE microwave Profile had "crashed". We bought this new GE microwave to use until we could buy a new Profile. Once we got it home, we found that the dimensions were/are the same as the former Profile microwave and even looks the same. We had an appliance man come out and install the newly purchased model, with our former Profile's trim kit. Perfect fit and look of former GE Profile built-in and fit into the existing space with no spaces or gaps. We most likely will not buy the Profile now.
A:AnswerHello, Good question! We appreciate you reaching out to us and we'd be more than happy to help with this model's capabilities. We found that this model cannot be placed under the cabinet with a mounting kit. Thanks for checking with us! -Sylvia@GEA
