The Permatuf® tub and door liner were developed exclusively for the harsh world inside a dishwasher. Tough, durable polypropylene-base material, similar to that used in battery cases and football helmets, was specially formulated to create the Permatuf® tub. The lower the decibel rating the quieter the dishwasher (18 dBA - Normal breathing*; 38 dBA - A soft whisper*; 48 dBA - Libraries*; 58 dBA - Moderate rainfall*- *Information provided by The League for the Hard of Hearing).     • Answer Hello ron, Thanks for asking! We appreciate your interest in GE Appliances, and we'd be happy to help you with the features of this dishwasher. We apologize for this information not being easy to locate, but we'll use this as an opportunity for improvement. We found that this dishwasher does have a drying option. When selecting the wash cycle options, be sure to turn the "HEATED DRY" option on. This will add 30 minutes to the was cycle by 30 minutes to dry the dishes.
