Q: QuestionReplacing a JRP15 with JRP20 under countertop: these models have not been tested/approved for install below counter top, recommended min. mounting height is 32 1/2" from the floor. I don’t see this in specs. Does this mean an installer won’t do it?

Q: QuestionI am replacing a GE Built-In Single Electric Wall Oven Model No. JKP13G0T1BB with the GE 24" JRP20SKSS. Wanted to make sure the cutout would fit with the new GE 24" above.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi there, and thanks for your interest in replacing your current wall oven with model JRP20SKSS! We appreciate your loyalty as a GE consumer and are glad to assist. The cut out for the model you are interested in should have dimensions of 22 1/2" W, a minimum of 27 5/8" to a 28 1/8" maximum for height, and a depth of 23 1/2" minimum. Your current model's cut out dimensions should be 23 5/8” D minimum and 25” W minimum. The height would have the same range of a minimum of 27 5/8” to a maximum of 28 1/8”. Unfortunately, the new model will therefore not fit into your current cut out without alteration; we regret any inconvenience this may cause. We do have other models that would be more comparable with your current cut out - JKS3000SNSS, PKS7000SNSS and JKS5000SNSS. Further important information, dimensions and diagrams for those models are provided in the installation instructions, which are available on our GE website by searching for the model number, if you wish to review those alternate options further to see if they would be a good fit for you. We are happy to help with any other concerns or questions you have. Thanks for being part of our GE Family! -Sarah@GEA

- A:Answer Hi Homeowner, thanks for your question! We're finding that your old wall oven has the following cutout requirements: Cabinet width: 24", width (max): 22", height (max): 28 1/8", depth (min): 24", bottom of cutout space from the floor: 32 1/2". - For the new oven that you've provided here, the cutout requirements for it are as follows: Cabinet width: 24", width (min): 22 1/2", height (min): 27 5/8", depth (min) 23 1/2", bottom of cutout space from floor: 32 1/2". Some slight modifications may need to be made to your cutout space. We would recommend speaking to a contractor or a cabinet professional for help with any modifications to the cutout space.
